Try it on your own wall

Stick it up, light your favorite frame, live with it in the evening. If your wall doesn't look the way you hoped, send it back and we refund you. 30 days from delivery.

How it works

A wall light usually means a cable inside the wall, so an electrician and a hole to patch. That is why so many frames stay in the dark.

This light is made of two parts. The mount sticks to your wall, above the frame. The light snaps onto the mount by magnet.

The battery is inside the light. One charge gives up to 10 hours of light.

When it runs low, you pull the light off, charge it and snap it back. The mount stays where it is, and so does your frame.

You switch it on and choose the color from the remote.

Is it for me?

Yes, if you rent and hardwiring a sconce is out of the question.

Yes, if you own your place and didn't want to commit to the wiring, or to an electrician's bill for each light.

Yes, if there are few outlets near the wall you want to light.

Yes, if you tried the puck light trick and got tired of lights that fell out.

No, if you want to light a whole room. This is an accent light. It lights a frame, a shelf, a corner of hallway, and lets you turn off the big light.

What's in the box

1x Magnetic Picture Light

1x Wall Mount

How to use it

1. Charge the light fully before the first evening.

2. Choose the spot, centered a little above the frame. Wipe the wall so it is clean and dry.

3. Stick the mount to the wall and press it firmly.

4. Snap the light onto the mount. The magnet pulls it into place.

5. Switch it on with the remote and choose warm amber, white or another color.

6. When the light gets low, pull it off, charge it and snap it back.

A wired sconce is a decision you live with. This one you can change your mind about.

You hung the frames. At night, it's the big light or nothing.

You picked the prints, you measured, you hung them straight. By day the wall looks great. After dark it goes flat, and the only switch you have is the bright ceiling light. Lighting is the hardest thing to get right, especially when you rent. Hardwiring is out of the question, there are few outlets near that wall, and you didn't want to commit to the wiring anyway.

Three framed prints lit by three magnetic picture lights in a dark room

The mount stays on the wall. The light clicks off to charge.

You may have tried the puck light trick: a little light balanced inside a sconce, that you wiggle out every evening and that falls out most nights. This one is built the other way round. The mount sticks to your wall and stays there. The light snaps onto it by magnet. When the battery runs low, after up to 10 hours, you pull the light off, charge it, and snap it back. Your frame never moves.

Magnetic picture lights switched on with the remote above wall art

A warm glow that makes the room feel like home

From the remote, pick warm amber or white and your art gets that upscale vibe you see in a gallery. Turn off the big light when company is around for the night, and the room feels bigger, more elevated and inviting. There are 13 color modes for the days you want another mood. Use one light per frame, two or three for a large piece or a gallery wall. An electrician bills for every sconce and opens the wall to do it. Here you stick, snap, and you have 30 days to see it on your own wall.

Before you buy

Will it fall off my wall?
If you tried puck lights inside a sconce, you know the question: has your puck light ever fallen off? Those fall because the light is only balanced inside something that was never made to hold it. Here the mount is stuck to the wall and the light is held on it by magnet. You only take the light off when you decide to charge it. Stick the mount on a clean, dry wall and press firmly.
How long does the battery really last?
Up to 10 hours on one charge. If your lights are on about three hours a night, that is around three evenings, so plan to charge it a couple of times a week. We would rather tell you that now than have you count the evenings yourself. It is made for the hours you are in the room, not to stay on for days.
Is recharging going to be a chore?
It would be if you had to take a big, heavy painting down every time. You don't. The light comes off its magnet in one move, the mount and the frame stay on the wall. Charge it while you are out or asleep and snap it back. Nothing to unscrew, and no batteries to change.
Is it bright enough for my picture?
This is a compact spot, made to light one frame. On a small or medium picture, one light above it is enough. For a large piece or a gallery wall, plan two or three, so the light covers the whole picture and not half of it. That is why most people take a set.
Will the light look cold or blue?
That is the complaint with many cordless lights: too blue, too dim. This one has 13 color modes, and warm amber and white are the ones to use on art. You choose from the remote, so you see the result on your own wall and keep the tone that suits your frame and your room.
I rent. Can I really put this up?
Yes. Because we're renting, hardwiring sconces was out of the question: that is the sentence we hear most. There is no cable in the wall and no electrical work, so there is nothing to ask your landlord about wiring. The mount sticks on, and the light comes with you when you move into your next place.
Why not just buy a cheap pack of puck lights?
You have probably looked: lots of lights, lots of iffy reviews, and photos that make them look bigger than they are. A puck is a light with nowhere to sit. This one comes with its own wall mount in a gold or black finish, so it looks like a picture light and not like a gadget. The other route is a wired sconce, with an electrician billing for each one. Here you have 30 days to judge it on your wall.
Will it look good once it is on my wall?
What people want from it is an upscale vibe, and that comes from a warm light and a clean shape above the frame. Choose gold for a classic gallery look, black if your frames are dark or your style is modern. If it doesn't look right at your place, you send it back within 30 days and we refund you.
